Food and service were excellent! Our parents were in from out of state and staying nearby. So it was as convenient as it was good. The patio was comfortable and cozy. We even brought the dogs. Servers were great, food was great and we just had a good time all around! Thank you!

Jason's just opened for outdoor dining last week and we ventured over to Greenbrae to try out the menu . I have been here numerous times over the last few years and it's always a solid place to dine. We walk in greeted by the host wearing a mask in the hallway. He asks is if we have a reservation ? He then lead us to our table and seated us. All the tables were about 6 feet apart and everyone was social distancing ! The waiters all wore masks and gloves the whole time. The menu was an abbreviated version of what they usually offer. We order the tomato bruschetta, health fries with green beans and broccoli and also the Tomato Basil soup with a Thai twist. Food was delicious. Great place come and check it out !

This is exciting... Jason's Restaurant has a new owner, David Monson, who also has Farm House Local in downtown Larkspur. David was classically trained in Paris in 1987 at the Chambre de Commerce, Ecole Ferrandi. (After working with renowned chefs Wolfgang Puck, Jeremiah Tower and Patrick Glennon, David traveled overseas to Melbourne, Bombay and Hong Kong showcasing his unique brand of California cuisine. In 1995, David was awarded the Best Restaurant of the Year in Hong Kong at the Napa Restaurant located on the top floor of the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel.) Anyway, David now also owns Jason's, and having dined here three times, I am happy to report that it is better and more delicious than ever! Most of the menu is still the same delicious goodness, and most of the staff is the same. So that is all good! One important addition is the new general manager, Andrew, who is there most of the time to supervise the dining room and the kitchen. He is very capable, and makes sure that everything is working as it should, and that the dishes and service are excellent. Tonight we tried a variety of dishes, starting with one of the signature appetizers, the Dragon Prawns. Jason invented this dish, and it is noteworthy. The prawns are battered in Tempura, then put on top of a greens mixture, drizzled with Aioli and a bit of salmon roe. Very tasty! Then we ordered the classic Calamari Fritti. This is as good as it gets, and it is perfect. We asked for extra crispy, and loved every bite. Then, we shared the NY Strip Sirloin, and again it was a great entree and perfectly prepared medium rare. Served with garlic mashed potatoes and chimchuri on the side. Scrumptious! For dessert, we had one of Jason's classics, the absolutely divine Profiteroles, combining dark chocolate sauce, light pastry, and ice cream. This is a must-have! Our servers, Antonio, and Stanley, were so attentive and nice. In summary, this is a great Marin restaurant. Plenty of parking, reasonable prices, lovely decor, excellent service, and really delicious food. Highly recommended!

It screams fine dining when you got nice heavy fabric napkins but then you have a paper table "cloth". That is helpful in a busy restaurant for a faster turnaround but it doesn't scream fine dining very loud. So a bit of a mixed feeling about that. But of course, the focus should be mainly on food. And they really delivered! Dietmar had the Lobster Bisque and he was very happy. We also ordered the crispy beans they call it healthy fries, lol. They were as delicious as they are looking. The two dipping sauces did not disappoint either (ginger mayo and a sweet n sour sauce). I also had the California Chicken Tortilla soup with Avocados. SOOO good! Then the main was homemade gnocchi and a Kobe Bacon burger for me. Very good food. And the waiter have been going the extra mile in several ways. He made my side salat special with some extra avocados. Then we wanted to have dessert and we asked the waiter if they have real whipped cream. He was honest and admitted that the whipped cream would come out of a tin. Sorry, that's a no go for a fine dining restaurant (see napkins and table cloth at the beginning). I ordered a cappuccino and the waiter told me that the F&B manager decided that they only serve skim milk with their coffees. WHAT?!? Ok, there is a reason that I don't name the waiter, cause he again has gone the extra mile and back. When he brought the cappuccino he came and told me that he knew that the kitchen had whole milk for their food and he sneaked in and got me whole milk! WHOW that is customer service on a high level - thank you so much. We don't want you to get in trouble so no name - but we left a good tip. So food quality and in our experience waiter/service get them a high five star. The inconclusive decision about table cloth, fake whipped cream, and coffee bar decisions leaving the guest no choice, gives one star away.
